Sapref values the communities of which it forms a part and encourages its staff members to regularly engage in community development activities in both a corporate as well as in their personal capacities. Sapref GE Club has created a platform for its members to become more socially responsible professionals thus contributing to sustainable development. Since the club's inception the GEs have worked with various non-profit organisations namely Feed the Babies Fund, Umlazi COC, Gozololo, Letha Ithuba and Sizabo Isizwe . The Club has also organised two "Take a Child to Work" days, in the year of 2013 and another in 2014, and small groups from the club have presented at Career Fairs at many of the local universities.
